In an official memorandum submitted to the 15th Finance Commission, Maharashtra has demanded a higher share for states from the divisible pool of central tax collections, calling for an increase to 50 percent from the current 42 percent. The Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency , the nodal agency for renewable energy in the state, has outlined a plan to roll out 100,000 grid-connected solar powered agriculture pumps at a project cost of $1.87 billion.
